---------My guess is it would be to small in CID,dont know which perkin's he had but the other truck had a 4610 ford 3 CYL,it is a 201 CID @ around 65 HP,all Ford tractor diesel's of that vintage had the same bore and stroke from the 201 CID 3CYL-256 CID 4 CYL to the 401 CID 6 CYL in the TW series, 10,20 & 30's the diff being some were turboed and some were turbo/intercooled and all ran at 2300 RPM max, understand that the HP of tractor motor's is low while the torque is off the chart's in relation to auto/Pu truck motor's---------<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=4 width="100%" border=1><TBODY><TR vAlign=top><TD align=middle>Torque</TD><TD align=left>A twisting or turning force. Typically measured in pound-feet (lb-ft) or newton-meters (N·m). Note that torque is NOT work, even though it is measured in the same units. The difference is that the force in torque is not in the same direction as the distance (it is perpendicular), so it does not count as work. Notice also that lb-ft is used instead of ft-lb; engineers do this as a convenient way to quickly tell the difference between a torque and work measurement.</TD></TR><TR vAlign=top><TD align=middle>Horsepower</TD><TD align=left>A measurement for power that is commonly used in the U.S., abbreviated as "hp". James Watt invented this unit after observing that a horse could lift at a rate of about 550 foot-pounds per second for about an 8-hour shift.--------I think what this mean's is horsepower smoke's the tire's at the light while Torque pull's the load over the hill,to put is another way the Ford 300 CID inline 6 and the ford 302 V8 were with in 2 CID'S of each other, the 302 V8 was faster off the line BUT the ole 300 inline 6 could lug the load up the hill better ,I know,I had both of them,I dont think what he had in the F150's will pull a big load, but for a go to work and save the fuel type truck 40-50 MPG ant to shabbie!!!!!. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
