That doesn't sound right. IIRC methanol is produced during propane and NG refining. I thought all the gas refineries produced it.
We paid about $215/drum buying 6 drums a few months ago in S.C., but the price has come down again. We used to get it for $134/drum. Our supllier said the rapid increase was partly due the conversion of so many power plants to NG - the demand exceeded the supply for awhile. It appears to be stabilizing a bit now.
Kinda sucks we are still at the mercy of 'big oil', eh?
