Yeah, I just talked again after church to the guy I got the engine from. He said the dealer down the road,2 or 3 miles from his house, back in the day special ordered the truck in as a demo. When he finished with it, my friends dad bought it and used it untill it was parked behind his barn in the early seventies. My friend, who is in his mid fifties, is certain that the truck never had engine work.

Where do they put the number on the head? I don't have it off the block yet and the manifolds are still in place. The exhaust is EBP-8430-A and the intake is C0AE-9425-C. This truck also came with 3-speed overdrive that is in rough shape but I would like to restore it for my driver! I have a 51 ******- Overland station wagon with overdrive and that thing is a blast to drive. In the past I drove it for family vacation from central NY, 6 hours to south eastern Maine! Who needs minivans?!?!
