man i hear your pain i was also told that my clutch fan on my 97 f150 4.6 4x4 sc had left hand threads also. after much cursing and a little bleeding i found out that it was RIGHT hand thread it was not backwards. so after that i was able to get it off and i didnt use the special tool just shade treed it. i was relacing my clutch fan with electric fans. so i hope this helps
