"Light Duty" F250 Rear axle seal replacement

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and have a question about my daughter's truck. It's a 1982 F250 with the 4.9L 6 and a semi-floating rear axle. We need to replace the axle seals as they are leaking a bit and the brake shoes have some gear oil on them. I am having a problem figuring out how the axles come out of the axle tubes. We have removed all of the parts from the backing plates and even removed the wheel cylinder as they will be replaced as well. But I can't see how the hub/axle/bearing assembly comes out. It seems to have a cup over the seal and I assume the outer bearing. Does the axle have to be released from inside the differential or am I missing something? This is unlike any other semi-floating axle I have ever seen before-not that I have a huge amount of experience, but I have changed a few seals before. And just to be sure, this is not the full-floating axle, it is in fact the eight bolt hub with semi-floaters. Thanks for your help.
