VanPelt shows Ford V8's as serial numbers 18-6,769,036 to 18-6,925,898 for the '42 model year (this includes all Ford V8's, and not the Mercury or 6cyl)

My s/n is 18 6826xxx Looks like it falls about in the middle of the V8 run of vehicles produced
