it is OK to question me, I am not always correct, but in this case I did a little test.
The 08 18" chrome wheels pictured on my site at

are for sure covered with chrome metal and not plastic. I tested this by using a magnet and it stuck to the wheels, unlike the front chrome grill for example is chrome plastic and the magnet would not stick to it.
