LOL.... too late. I pulled it out just a short time ago.
I spoke with a very knowledgeable mechanic about it and he too thought it was the pump.

I couldn't get the three nuts off and resorted to pulling the injection pump gear housing. Of course I messed up the location of the gear. Duh! I took a good look at the position before lifting it but I am uneasy about replacing it.

How bad did I screw this one up?????

Will it run at all if I'm off a tooth?
I assume if it does in fact run but runs poorly I can just loosen the cover and move it over one tooth (one way or the other)

I should have taken a picture of the position BEFORE even considering popping the cover. Ugh!!!!!!
