My wife has taken our truck into the dealer 3 times for this same problem, what we found.

Our old 04 Expedition was an XLT so we did not have the auto temp, and it always blew very cold!

The dealer filled the system with R134a to full, they said sometimes the factory did not fill it enough.

My wife would always turn the auto temp down to 60 degrees right when she got in the truck. She said the truck would not cool down, just blow kind of warm air on high fan!

After a couple times to the dealer, we (they) figured out that, when you turn the temp down to 60, it puts the system into Max recirculate air. This is not good because the compressor freezes up? The manual does not say this anywhere??

So ,she now only turns the temp down to 68 and the truck does seems to cool much better! We went to lake Powell at 104 and the truck seemed to cool down in a mile or so, to bearable temps!
