Is there such a thing as bed bolts? Yes if you are dealing with someone that sells truck body parts. If you are trading with Fastenal or McMaster-Carr you will be buying carrige bolts. The trick is going to be getting carrige bolts with a "good" enough plating to hold up to the exposure. That was why I mentioned stainless in my earlier post. When we were building street truck using the 60-66 Chevy short/narrow bed platform we would use stainless to assemble the bed sides, front, fenders, and the wood floor.

For you guys that are not familar with McMaster-Carr, they are an excellent outfit to trade with. Have everything and usually ships the same day.
