I don't think the 5.0 computer would work on a 5.8 engine, unless you replace the distributor with a 5.0 one. I don't know if that is even possible. The tranny should also bolt up fine. If you have the smaller radiator, you might want to replace it with a larger unit. Otherwise, it should be a easy swap. My guess is also around 3-4mpg less than the 302, but you'll have a bit more highend than the 302 would have.
