As near as I can tell, these are the engines with the same bellhousing bolt pattern (and therefore would use the same trans) as a 302:

3.8 RWD/3.9/4.2 V6, 255 V8, 6 bolt 289 V8, 302 V8, 351W V8, 351C V8, 240 I6, 300 I6

There are a couple odd ***** that I left out (early mods, certain '73 400M). I don't know that any of the 302 compatible engines came from the factory in a Ranger.
