Don't forget to upgrade your clutch as well. Your tranny probably won't hold up very long, but being 2wd and these trucks being everywhere in junkyards, you'll probably get pretty familiar with swapping out transmissions. It sounds like a good project though and you have done quite a bit of homework already. I've done two v8 swaps into rangers, I wouldn't even mess with a v6, but good luck!
