That's a 1960's 426 Hemi. Probably the best piece of hardware to come out of Detroit in it's day.

Chrysler didn't need help back then. But times are different now. There's a lot more competition and Japanies brands are hurting the "Big 3".

Say it was Ford that Damiler merged with in 1998. I'd bet they would be in better shape right now.

Successes like the LX cars (300, Magnum, Charger), technology like Multi Displacement System (MDS), the new Hemi engines, and extras like the SRT lineup are all ossible because the companies worked together and shared technology.

Overall I think the merger did more good than harm. I hope this end up being just a rumor and nothing serious.
