The whole point to this part of FTE is Ford vs The Competition not Ford is better than the Competion. ( which it is but I don't go around waving the flag as much as some people in here )

My question is what does a person have to state here to become a "Toyota apologizer" as you put it. In the majority of cases it comes down to logical sense, some people seem to think that Ford is the "be all, end all" of vehicles when infact it's not. They excel in certain areas but by all means are not perfect. It's "ford fanboys" ( and I use that term loosly because I'm one to a certain extent ) that chime in with pointless propaganda and assumtions that are just stupid, that could be the reason why Toyota is gaining sales although I'm confused by that comment that Toyota is gaining sales because of few "realists" on this site.

Once again just my opinion, take it for a grain of salt or whatever.....
I didn't state that they're gaining sales do to so called "realists" on this site. I know, hell, it's blaringly obvious that Toyota has been very popular for many years now. I'm not denying that they make a good product, and I'm not saying Ford is industructable either.
My problem is people that come on here and state that "Ford has a lot of catching up to do"..."Ford doesn't make quailty vehicles", or my favorite, "Toyota is better...plain and simple", without actually providing proof...then claim to be a "realist" all while blasting anyone that supports, or even suggests Ford makes a quality product. You don't believe me? Go look at the 5.7L Toyota engine thread, or any of the other top ten threads in this forum.

I hope Ford gets back on track, I hope Ford quits cutting U.S. jobs but most of all I wish people would see past their own bias and prejudices and maybe see what's working for other companies.....kinda like Ford's new CEO is.

I just have a hard time grasping the fact that while it may be newsworthy that Toy's have run in to some issues, they still have nearly 3X's less recalls than Ford.

It's just my opinion you don't bring up something to knock something/somebody when that something is your weak point.

Kinda like being a Cubs fan and knocking the Yankees because they haven't won the Series in a few years.

Thanks for your very thoughtful and honest post......
Thankyou for understanding me, your level headedness (that's a word) is one of the reasons I respect you. I agree with you on the "Ford is the best just because" syndrome. Any person that is inexperienced, or doesn't feel they need any reasons will follow this. Hell, I'll be the first to admit that I was like that at one point in time...I was 5 years old, and Dad's truck was the coolest thing ever. My whole family has been Ford. We're all not naive though. We've had experience that leads us to believe we're driving the best products on the market for our needs, and for what our taste requires.
I wanted to learn more about the thing I love so much, so I now understand and recognize why I love Ford as much as I do through experience with other manufacturers, and through heavy experience with my Fords.

Like I stated above to SMIGGS though...I don't understand the self proclaimed "realists" that have repeatedly blasted Ford without any hard proof. That's what my post is really about.

On that note...I looked at the recalls for 2006 for Ford through this page
http://www.automotive.com/new-cars/r...ord/index.html
...and it seems the recalls are minor, most of the vehicles won't see a side affect of not going in on warranty. I'm not trying to defend Ford on this subject...the recall count should be far less than what it is...minor or not. I'm just puting some perspective into it.
It doesn't look like those recalls add to 2.2 million though...are the rest 6.0L related...or is there a recall for any 6.0L in 2006?
Thankyou for listening.
