Another option is to go to a good hardwood store and buy a sheet of marine grade plywood. They should have several different woods, including teak, oak, maple, etc. that can be used. You can then route out for the strips and use whatever metal you want, such as stainless steel, aluminum, which you can get from your local machine shop cut to the right sizes.
