Technically the 534 goes all the way back to 64. We have one in a 1964 C-600 Tilt cab Fire Truck. Even has a 5 speed transmission. It is true that they were only reserved for the large trucks. They also had a diesel for 66, but that's another story.

1965 F-100 (just purchased 1/18/01), SWB, 390, C-6 auto. Dual exhaust, Not much else to do to it.
