When I got my 64 it had a shufter put in. It was apain. It was low to the floor and hit the doghouse and seat frame. It was sticky.Who ever installed it did a butcher job. I got rid of it and got me a 3 in the tree colunm shift back in. Patched the floor and replaced the rods which were cut with a cutting torch.
So if get a shifter, make sure you have room for it and the handle is high enough up that it has no interference from hitting anything.
