Fuel gauge problem

Might I recommend something? If you are going to replace the sending unit. My advice, get one direct from ford. That way you'll know it's the correct part. I bought one from a parts house ($125) and found out that it read backwards. Turned out, after I dropped the tank the second time, it was for an escort!
Then I just dropped the old sender back in, only one poblem, it wouldn't work at all. So, I had to take the sender out again. The third time I pulled the sender, I took the bed off the truck (88 F-150), but I bought the corredt sending unit from Ford, and haven't had a problem since.

My sending unit cost me $175 but at least it's the correct one. And it already had the low pressure pump attached to it.
