Missed Opportunities

Hey Guys,

I missed a great deal yesterday. I've been keeping my eyes open for an early 50's F1. Found a 51 in the company newsletter, called the guy up yesterday and learned it was a complete, all original truck. He has owned it for 20+ years and parked it a few years back when the fuel pump went bad. He said it had the original flathead V8 rebuilt. So, I'm on my way to check it out last evening when he calls and said it was sold, the first guy to get there bought it. I figured that could happen since he was only asking $1500 and was throwing in a 16ft tandem car hauler. Such is life!

I am dying to get another old truck, but I'm thinking I probably should stick to a late 60s or 70s model since there are more of those around, and I'm more familiar with them.

Anyone else got a good story of 'what could have been'?
