First filter of WVO.

If anyone remembers, I got ahold of 300 gal. of prime oil from a 3 day shimp fest. It has been sitting for over 4 weeks now and I found the time to build my home filter kit. Pump from Harbor Frieght $25.00 on sale and $9.95 for a two year replacement warranty. Home Depot G.E. home filters, two, with 15 micron filters,$32.00 each. Lowes hose and fittings about $40.00. Ace Hardware gauges, two, $5.65 each. Drums 6x $36.00 each. Salt and baking soda from Sams. I have just kind of bought what I have a little at a time. I still need two check valves on the pick up hose and maybe a pre-pump screen. BTW, check to make sure your filter housings are tight out of the box!!!!
I plan to fill the 55 drum today and let it sit for three weeks with the salt and bs. Then I will heat it, but , it is 95 here already. Water test shows no water, but I still want to heat it to 140 for a little while ,cool and filter the last time with 1 micron filters.

I have to now add that I now have water in my oil. I was not watching the hose and sucked from the bottom of one of the drums......milk! I also think that I will fab a pcv pick up 1" dia. with a closed end and screened pick up about 18" from the closed end, then a check valve, then another 24" of 1" pcv and reduce to hook up to my 3/4" hose. This will keep me from, 1) holding the hose,2) pulling from the bottom. 3) allow me to suck from one of the bung holes and not have to pull the lid.
The first filter is ready to change I think...50 gal. The PSI on that filter was up to 45 psi. and the second filter was only 25psi and very GOLD!!!!!
Any input will help. Thanks.
