I have a set of instructions for changing the pump. Click on my user name and send me a e-mail and I'll send it to ya. The fuel pressure can be check by connecting to the schrader valve on the fuel pressure regulator. 40-50 psi is normal when truck is idling. Dunno about just cranking???
