First, welcome to FTE!

Second, it is not a dumb question. If the vehicle or ANY combination of the vehicle, it's contents and trailers are 4500 KG or more you need to get an annual inspection. You also HAVE to do a daily trip sheet (can be bought at your local MTO place I believe).

Is this a commercial vehicle or personal?
