i hope you bought the lift for the 78 F150 b/c that is the suspension you'll be working on. what you need to do is get the axle bolted in and centered and the figure where your radius arm drop mounts go. now you dont have to use the radius arm drop mounts if you are just going with a 4" lift. all you have to do is order degreed radius arm bushings and that will tilt the radius arm up and point towards the stock nracket instead of having a bracket hang down and asking for a rock or stump to catch it (although never had a problem with that)
