As you probally know the earlier 47-50 Mercury trucks just had different front sheetmetal than the Ford trucks. The 51-68 trucks just had the different trim. If the Mercury had electric wipers the Ford's had it too. There has been guys with electric wipers on their 48's. If anything Ford of Canada was behind the US. We never got a I-6 engine till '1957 while they had it in the 40's. The only thing the Ford of Canada did better was they made a full flow oil filter system for the flathead V-8's for 2 years.
