I'm sorry, but your friends truck should go faster with all of those parts. And with a good tune, there is NO need for an FMU on boosted, speed density setup. I know, because I run as much as 14psi on my stock motor, stock speed density, and I also do my own tuning, and my truck runs low low 8's to high 7's in the 8th (good to go well into 12's in the 1/4). The friend you have, with the GEN 1, does not represent the entire GEN 1 Lightning community.

I did test drive a 99, and ride was smooth, almost carlike compared to my GEN 1. The fit/finish of the interior of the GEN 2's is excellent. But to say 9k for a low milage GEN 1 is too much, is where I feel you are mistaken. I say this because I've seen those trucks with low miles change hands for that much and even more....they are a dying breed you know.
I still say that 9k is a deal for a 94 with those miles on it.
