OCT 22nd & 23rd - it's for all lovers of Wharton (not just Jeeps)

quote
Wharton State Forest in South Jeresy is celebrating its 50th aniversary this
year and the 4 Wheel Drive Pines Cleanup contingent will be celebrating
their fourth year helping to keep Wharton pristine. What better recogniton
could the New Jersey Park System give the off road community than to honor
them in the month of October during their year long celebration of Wharton's
golden anniversary.

This year we will digress from our one day intensive clean up and have a 2
day celebratory event. On Saturday October OCT 22 we will meet at Carranza
Memorial [11 AM] and have a parade/guided educational tour through the park
[[voice overs by public radio and NJ 101 announcers] followed by a family
campout at the Hawkins Bridge camping area. On Sunday Oct 23 we will meet at
the The Atsion Ranger Station of Wharton State Forest on route 206 [bet 9:30
and 10 AM] and spend 5-6 hours in organized groups clearing trash out of the
forest. You don't have to participate Sat. to help out on our traditional
Sunday cleanup. Last year we had to pile trash beside the two 30 cubic yard
dumpsters that were filled beyond capacity. After the cleanup we will meet
at the Pic-a-Lily [on rt 206] for door prizes, food and comeraderie.

We are now soliciting past participants, 4 wheel drive clubs and local and
national business to contribute time and resources [ door prizes, t shirts ,
caps , straps, gift certificates, parts etc] to make this event an
overwhelming success. The honor of having a month dedicated to 4 wheelers by
a state government entity is unprecidented and shows what teamwork, mutual
respect and love of the outdoors can accomplish. We view this as a great
opportunity to showcase a partnership for keeping our state lands clean and
our right to tranverse them unhindered.

Please be a part of this worthwhile event. Contact founder Michael Tarsia to
see how your family, organiztion or business can contribute to this worthy
cause.

Thank you in advance for your dedication to a beautiful ,clean and
accessible state forest system. THIS YEAR SHOULD BE OUR LARGEST EVENT..WE
NEED YOUR SUPPORT TO ACHIEVE THIS..WE EXPECT PRINT AND OTHER MEDIA
COVERAGE..SHOW WHAT 4 WHEELERS CAN DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE HAVE BEEN THE
LARGEST VOLUNTEER EVENT IN WHARTON'S HISTORY!!!!!!!!
