or it could just be a bad pressure regulator. that could explain your "When I go ON three times, it starts for about 2 sec and dies" cycling the pump multiple times on may be building enough pressure to make it past the faulty regulator. or the same reason for suspecting a weak pump. but still no use in stabbing at faulty parts till you put a gauge on it.
