From what I've seen, our sponsers seem to offer quality products. Your budget is probably the only constraint you'll have in restoring the truck. If used parts are acceptable, there are quite a few recycling yards is the Denver-Metro area. Some have more pride in their product than others. Self service yards can be a treasure trove, but they're a hit-or-miss proposition.


Unless your flywheel has cracks, you should be fine replacing the ring gear only. It's a simple operation that does require a torch. Your local yellow pages is your best bet for a new ring gear, and shop if you prefer someone else do the work. Your proximity to a larger population center will also be a factor in availability of goods, services, and competitive pricing.
