Well, I'm probably not the most qualified to answer your chip question, but my chip is located under the drivers side dash. I pulled the fuse pannel to see it. It's right above the emergency brake. It's on the end of a small black plastic box that covers the ECM case. I had mine installed the first time and the guy was good enough to write the programing codes on the chip and the chip itself was labeled Superchip. The back of the black plastic cover had to be cut to allow the installation so it was all pretty visible. With a droplight or flashlite.
