Here is the section it refers to:


Evaporator Core Housing

Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable (14301). For additional information, refer to «Section 414-01».
2. Recover the refrigerant. For additional information, refer to «Section 412-00».
3. Remove the engine air cleaner (ACL) (9600). For additional information, refer to «Section 303-12».
µ 4. Remove the nuts and the screws from the windshield washer reservoir/coolant recovery reservoir and reposition the reservoir.
µ 5. Remove the screws and reposition the A/C vacuum reservoir tank and bracket (19A566).
µ 6. Disconnect the connector from the speed control servo (9C735).
µ 7. Remove the screw and reposition the speed control servo.
µ 8. Disconnect the A/C manifold and tube (19D734) from the suction accumulator/drier (19C836). For additional information, refer to the Spring Lock Couplings Disconnect and Connect general procedure in «Section 412-00».
µ 9. Disconnect the condenser to evaporator tube (19835) from the A/C evaporator core (19860). For additional information, refer to the Spring Lock Couplings Disconnect and Connect general procedure in «Section 412-00».
µ 10. Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C cycling switch (19E561).
µ 11. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor (18527).
µ 12. Disconnect the electrical connector from the heater blower motor switch resistor (18591).
µ 13. Remove the support bracket (3.0L and 4.0L engines).
µ 14. Disengage the windshield washer hose retainer and position aside.
µ 15. Disconnect the vacuum hose.
µ 16. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the retainer and position aside.
µ 17. Remove the A/C hose support retaining bolts from the back of the engine (4.0L only).
µ 18. Disconnect the vacuum harness connector located in the passenger compartment.
µ 19. Remove the nut located in the passenger compartment.
µ 20. Remove the nuts and remove the evaporator core housing.

Installation
1. Install the evaporator core housing and retaining nuts.
2. Install the retaining nut in the passenger compartment.
µ 3. Connect the vacuum harness connector in the passenger compartment.
µ 4. Install the A/C hose support retaining bolts to the back of the engine (4.0L only).
µ 5. Install the vacuum hose into the retainer.
µ 6. Connect the vacuum hose to the water diverter valve.
µ 7. Install the windshield washer hose retainer.
µ 8. Install the support bracket on 3.0L and 4.0L engines only.
µ 9. Connect the electrical connectors to the blower motor and the heater blower motor switch resistor.
µ 10. Connect the electrical connector to the A/C cycling switch.
µ 11. Note:
New green O-ring seals should be lubricated with PAG Compressor Oil, YN-12-C (F7AZ-19589-DA) or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B. Use of sharp tools should be avoided.

Connect the condenser to evaporator tube to the A/C evaporator core. For additional information, refer to the Spring Lock Coupling Disconnect and Connect general procedure in «Section 412-00».
µ 12. Connect the A/C manifold and tube to the suction accumulator/drier. For additional information, refer to the Spring Lock Coupling Disconnect and Connect general procedure in «Section 412-00».
µ 13. Install the speed control servo and connect the electrical connector.
µ 14. Install the A/C vacuum reservoir tank and bracket.
µ 15. Install the windshield washer reservoir/coolant recovery reservoir.
16. Install the engine air cleaner. For additional information, refer to «Section 303-12».
17. Connect the battery ground cable.
18. Evacuate and charge the refrigerant system. For additional information, refer to «Section 412-00».
