My gauges on my dash stopped working

On my 2001 F350 all my gauges, windshield wipers, electric windows,
cruise control would intermittently quit working after start-up
and sometimes after the engine has been running a while. When this
condition occured there was also alot of static noise when the stereo
system was turned on. I found that while pressing on the door lock /
unlock button, everything went back to normal and the static noise
went away. My local Ford dealer informed me that they needed to replace the "Gem Unit" (Main computer board) My F350 is only six months old and has 10K miles on it. I have also had trouble with
faulty injector sensors, & a major leak in the Power brake booster.
All have been repaired under warranty. I still wouldn't trade it for
another brand out there, but I do wonder what happened to Quality
Job One.
