I don't know how long you have had the truck or how often you have drove it if ever. But, you have to put your foot on the brake before you take it out of park. It's a safety thing. If you do that and it still doesn't work someone else might be able to help you. Good luck.

EDIT TO ADD: Are you parked on a hill? It may be hard to take out of park if you are.
