Thanks Ross, photos of the finished product answer a lot of questions. The drawing only showed a "plan view", top down which did not depict the actual height of the stanchions.
Nathan, I believe that the drawing does in fact depict the plates that mount directly to the block as the "biscuit" style shock isolators are located under the plate. This design does not use the stock SBF motor mounts. If you use the dimensions on this drawing to fabricate your stand then you wouldn't need the universal dimensions.

I believe that my question has been answered...the design will change to copy this drawing, only on mine I won't need the biscuits as I won't be running an engine on the stand. Thanks again Ross.
