It's interesting in the light of no performance numbers yet that Ford hopes the 2.7L Ecoboost will champion the half ton MPG's wars going on right now.

The 3.5L EB has proven itself to be reliable and capable. If Ford builds on this with the 2.7L, then there should be very little push back.
