I found the my old 305s filled out to the edge of the flared guards I have, so much so that mud would come off the tyres up the sides of the truck.

The 285's I've put on are 20mm within the flares, but the tallness of the tyre fills up the wheel arch. I'm pretty happy with the looks. Diving hard on the 305's was probably responsible for premature wear of the trucks ball-joints and front hubs. I've replaced the worn bits and am happy to be on something more truck friendly..
