Just for thought but I went from a '00 f250 (2V-260 HP) SC LB 4x4 w/ 5.4L 3.73 rear. It towed and hauled what I asked but slowly. Upgraded to a '06 F350 CC LB (3V-362 HP) 4x4 w/6.8L 4.10 rear. Tows and hauls 10k with no issues and wayyyyy faster than the '00. Even better with a Tuner from Mike @ 5-star! Two totally different animals though, the front coils were an improvement for turning radius but the ride empty is still a bit harsh. As far as working on them I believe they are about the same IMHO. I just did the plugs and coils within the last few months. I changed them out at 70K in fear of the seize up potential. Follow the directions on how to and its cake. Just remember these rigs are heavy. I scale in at 8k empty with no trailer and just a few things in the tool box. Don't expect Lightining 1/4 mi. times. These trucks were meant for "doin *****". Both trucks got about 10-12 mpg all around driving on a tank of 87. Hope this helps ya a bit. Good Luck!
