I always start with electrical, either take pics of all the connections or tape and a marker to label them. then any liquid lines, coolant, fuel, etc. Pull the radiator to get it out of the way to not damage it, then free the motor from the mounts, then do a last check for any thing that was missed to disconnect, and pull it out. no real tricks that I've learned. If your pulling motor and trans as one then be prepared for all the trans fluid to dump out the tail, might even be easier to pull the grill and radiator support to not have to lift it so high. good luck take lots of pic before to be able to know what went where.
