I bought a '79 F7000 diesel grain truck with a dump bed. The data plate on the door is obviously incorrect since the VIN starts with F10. The plate is painted over and the door handle is different so apparently the door was replaced and the plate wasn't transferred. From the registration, the VIN is K70BVFC9184. Is the plate data replicated anywhere else on the chassis? Thanks for any decoding help you can offer.
K70 = F700 Diesel.

B = Caterpillar V190-3208 636 cid V8 Diesel or Cummins KTA 600 1150 cid I-6 Diesel.

V = Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant.

FC9184 = 1979.

There will be a hidden VIN stamped on the top of the frame rail, but where it is on your truck, I dunno.

You can get a duplicate Warranty Plate with all the correct codes stamped on it by passing along your VIN to martiauto.com
