Stewart is correct. There is no effect on the ABS if you re-install the sensor.

If you leave them out (as I have), the ABS system is disabled, which does not affect braking in any way. You will have the ABS light on until it burns out or is removed from the instrument panel.

You can use the fittings if you do not have the ABS. You just have to get the ABS hubs, remove the sensor and place the grease fittings in their place.
