well, let's start from here, under federal regs/law & enforceable by any law enforcement agency (including USDA, Fish & Game) or AQMD or EPA staff.....you are not suppose to touch (dealer only) the cats for 8 years or 80K miles, which ever comes first......the smog guys (depending on your location) will also check for this......and the aftermarket cats...well, they really do not flow that much more than the oem units.....while you may gain some sound, hp, lucky if you see 5-10 hp at peak rpm.

and while you are likely not to see fines (like a business would)......if your "buddy" gets caught and spills about who made it for him & installed it......you are looking (for real) at a criminal conviction (yes a misdemeanor, but it still is going to be on your record forever)
