IMHO....
considering the oil filter bypass begins "defaulting to the open position" after 90 days (regardless of mileage) and taking into consideration the study that Valvoline did (10+) years ago, showing the additives begin breaking down after 1500 miles and by 5000 there is significant degradation, even with the current base oils....I
1. Change oil filters every 90 days
2. With the extra (8 qt) capacity...I still target oil changes every 4-5K miles.
3. If you are going past that, then IMHO I would highly consider a secondary bypass filter system such as Frantz...that filters well below 10 micron (5 micron IIRR)..and being a secondary system there is not impact on warranty, oil flow or psi.
