I had a full manual setup in my 97 Thunderbird... steering lock can be removed if you take the column apart. I don't remember what I did but it wasn't hard. I had rocker switches for primary and auxiliary electrical. Primary did the same as turning key switch to Run except no accessory power, which was what the aux switch was for. Also had On/Off switch for fuel pump, Hand/Off/Auto for radiator fan and Hand/Off/Auto for converter clutch.

Now, my F-250 had a bad starter circuit in the ignition switch and I was broke that week so no buying parts for me. Since I work with industrial controls, I just so happened to have a 22mm pushbutton, which I added just on the starter circuit.
