happened to me 2x, left me on the side of the road with trailer attached both times. if i understood the process correctly when the CPU senses a "bad" reading it will cause you to shut down for a specific timed event. I think it is 60 min. i know its harder to do now than it was but mini max was my solution.60k total on truck and 20k with mini maxx.
