If I remember correctly it has a nylon head where it attaches, with some sort of copper pin and spring, that makes contact with the bottom of the steering wheel.
I have three of these column set ups in my trucks but cannot come up with the info. The turn signal switch actuator (
mounting plate) is all steel not the plastic kind.
There is no separate horn wire used on any 1961/72 F Series truck. Only 1961/72 P Series Parcel Delivery's and C Series tilt cabs have a separate horn wire.
Are you sure the horn wire isn't part of the T/S switch?
Edit: It
is.
There's no pic in the 1957/63 Ford truck parts catalog that I can find that shows 1961/62 F100/250 2WD steering column horn related parts and T/S switch.
EDIT: Found the pic (illustrated under 4 way flasher wiring
). Piece pictured above ('horn wire') is part of the T/S switch, attaches to upper flange. T/S mounting plate located above it.
1961/62 F100/250 2WD: The
steel turn signal mounting plate (
CODF-13304-A) is separate from the T/S switch (
CODZ-13341-A).
Both are the same as 1960/61 Falcon/Comet and how the horn is operated is the same.
1960/63 Falcon/Comet 3 spoke steering wheels, horn button/horn ring same as 1961/70 F100/250 2WD, 1966/70 F100 4WD, 1969/70 F350. Steering wheel
only also same as 1966/73 Bronco.
But, 1960/61 Falcon/Comet use a different method of operating the horn as do 1961/62 F100/250 2WD's.
