I've read that if I want a pitman arm that you can use a tie rod end on instead of the stock ball for a '53-'56 F100 box that it's '57 only. I've also read that '57-'60 might be the same, it sounds like maybe there's a difference in pitman shaft size from '58-'60

There's no such thing as a 1957 only F100/250 Pitman Arm.
1957/58 F100/250 and 1959/60 F100/250 2WD with
Gemmer steering gearbox is the same.
1959 F100/250 2WD: There were two different steering gearboxes, Gemmer & Saginaw. Saginaw used a different Pitman Arm.
