Rotor turns clockwise. To find your number 1, there should be a "1" marked on the cap. If not, just trace where #1 is on the old cap before you take any of the old wires off.
unless you remove the distributor..replacing the OLD #1 in the same position on the new cap is what u must do irregardless of where the "1" is stamped on the cap.
