Bought a 2001 ford ranger 4x4 4.0 sohc with a blown motor. Wondering what engines will interchange with it from the explorers. I have my auction license and the auction I attend has all of state farms issac flood vehicles. There are a lot of 2002 and new explorers with the 4.0 in them that still run. I noticed that the intake and stuff are different from my ranger. Could I use the long block out of the newer explorers in my ranger with my components? Or can I only use ranger engines or explorers 96-01?
