They are not the same. a 360 is a older model 76 and under I believe and might have had a duraspark 1 system on it....77,78,79 all had duraspark 2 system. the ignition boxes are diffrent also, dura 1 has two plugs, one with 4 wires and the other2 wires, duras 2 has one with 4 wires and one with threee wires, that go to dist. From what I can remember.
1974/79: There are FIVE different ignition modules.

1974 module is 1974 only / 1975 module is 1975 only / 1976, there are THREE different modules, one was only used in some CA vehicles.

Modules have a colored plastic square above where the wires feed out, used to ID them. The OP needs to verify which module his truck has.

ALL 1976/79's use the SAME module if it has a BLUE square. Blue Motorcraft modules marked with ID numbers:

D6AE-12A199-A1A or A2A or A1B or A2B / D8VE-12A199-A1B or A2B or A1C or A2C

1977: The V8 dizzy cap changed, has 9 male ends and an adapter below that the cap clips onto.
