The September 2011 issue of Truck Trend Magazine showed a dyno test of the three engines.
The Eco Boost put out more power then either V8 all the way to 5000 RPM.

At that point, it's torque curve then fell off more rapidly then the 6.2 allowing the 6.2 to claim more "peak horsepower" which was at about 5600 RPM.

The Eco Boost torque curve is much flatter, so accelerating with that type of engine will give a more linear acceleration. The V8s have a rising torque curve, which means an increase in acceleration rate with RPM, which is more exciting; more
"muscle car" like. If that what you like, get a V8.

IF you're going to pull your 10,000 lb. trailer over the Rocky Mountains, or even at sea level, the Eco Boost looks like the best performing gas burner in a pickup truck.
